Harper Bennett is done with Apartment 4C. Moving out day is here, and she is not doing it alone. Logan believes her, her friends are in the room with her, and the plan is simple: pack her belongings, keep everyone together, and be out of The Marlowe before midnight. Ray is working the other end of the problem, digging into the building’s original records and plans for answers the hallway searches never turned up. A building keeps its secrets somewhere. Maybe on paper.

Inside 4C, the evidence problem has not gone away. The security camera keeps failing. The door sensor shows nothing. So Noah changes the approach: a battery-powered audio recorder that needs no Wi-Fi and no signal, just ears. If the camera cannot be trusted to watch Apartment 4C, it is time to try listening instead. All Harper has to do is finish packing and get everyone out before midnight. But getting out of The Marlowe is becoming harder than packing a few boxes.
